My Blog Mission Statement

Ok so I have always been into the online thing. However I really have never gotten into blogging. I guess I have always thought that if there was something I wanted you to know I would have told you. Now I find that even my lil sister is blogging and well I guess its time I get into it. So I can't say how often this will be updated or what exactly it will contain. It will mostly be of my musings and thoughts maybe Ill throw some good ole quotes in there for good measure. It will at least be a peek in to the wonderful and amusing mind of Moonshado. Oh and untill the day they install a spell checker into this blog spot program expect there to be germatical errors everywhere!

Where have I been?

Well I missed last Mondays post. Sorry to all my avid readers. Where has Walter been? Well I have changed schedules at work and now work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. So I’m all a bit mixed up currently. Beyond that I have been indulging in a an old weakness “World of Warcraft” that is such a fun game and well it can suck up as much time as you will give it. I’m happy to say Amity enjoys it as well. I guess we both have an addictive personality when it comes to good games. Bunnies, Munchkin and WOW. I will try and take sometime and write up some more soon!

Mini Musing

So I'm walking down the hall at work just listening to what’s going on and every one greets everyone with the "Hi how are you" greeting. And for the most part people reply with something like " Fine and you?" Why in the world do we do this its not like we actually care how the day of this random person is going is it? It's not like if they start to tell us a sob story of how bad something is we are not going to be saying to ourselves. "Oh man I asked the wrong person" So anyway I promptly continued my walk and greeted the next person with "Hi how are you"

Moonshado's Late night monday musing.

I guess today I'm in a thinking mood. I don't know why sometimes I just find myself wondering about everything. It seems like some times our lives buzz by so fast that we don't really stop to enjoy the little things that bring us true joy. Or more importantly we don't slow down long enough to realize the joy in the things that we do. Its funny I sit here with the all the frogs croaking in the background the cool breeze blowing across my feet, the cat curled up on my desk and great music playing. Does it really get any better than this feeling? It bliss and yet I don't often enough stop to just enjoy it.

Anyways I guess my message is for a few minutes each day just try and slow down relax and enjoy the small things.

Too bad Amity is at work and can't enjoy this....

Night.

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing

Well another Monday has rolled around and for once I knew exactly what I would be writing about. This weekend I got my new computer and was in the process of getting everything set up. One of the items I have is a wireless print server. It allows you to have your devices on the other side of the room (printers) and connect to them wirelessly. Now I don’t know about the rest of you but it seems like every time I try and set something up wirelessly it is never as easy as the directions make it out to be. Everything I have ever had just seems to want to cause me a headache and I’m convinced that there must be a frustration meter built into such devices because it seems as though once I reach my breaking point for some reason it just starts working. I have no idea what else could explain this. Well to make a long story short I have decided to go with a wired connection funny how that seems to work every time. Well I must say I love my new computer I had forgotten what it was like to have a snappy system again. Another minor rant, while windows Vista looks fantastic…it does seem a bit buggy with older games. Ick Microsoft needs to get their stuff together.

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing.

Well I was just sitting here and it donned on me its Monday again. What am I going to write about is there anything different in my life that is note worthy enough to put pen to paper, or key strokes to screen as it may be. Sure I could talk about my weekend… really I only have one funny tale about that and I will share that with you as well. Anyway where was I going with this? A few months back I was reading the Cray Bickford Family blog and there was a link to a 10 minute lecture that Randy Pausch did on achieving your childhood dreams. It was really good and touching due the situations he is facing in his life. I loved that little snippet it was fantastic. So I threw his name into Youtube and was lucky enough do find that he had a full length lecture on achieving your dreams as well as a full length lecture on time management. I had wanted to put those links up here as they are great watching. He is funny and uses great stories to illustrate his points and I think people can draw a lot of meaning from what he says and the actions he recommends. I have watched his “Achieving your dreams” three times and the “Time Management” At least 4 times. So here are the links if you find the time watch them I’m sure you will find something meaningful in there.

Oh to the story I was going tell about my weekend. I took Amity out this weekend as I wanted to buy her a desk and a chair. I have bought a new computer so I was moving my current computer over to he so she can use it. Anyway we went out and it took awhile but she found a desk and chair that she liked. Now being the smart girl she is she asked if I had measured the place where we were going to put the desk. Well I had meant to but totally forgot. So I called my good friend Dennis and asked him to measure. Well he did and told me it was 5’1’’ I had him double check and he said its was. He was using my electronic measuring device. Well fast forward about 6 hours I get home and had just spend time putting the desk together and I go and try and slide the desk into place and wowa it don’t fit. I measure the desk yep 59 inches. That should fit. I measure the space its only 4’9’’ hummm.. I call Dennis upstairs and ask him how he measured and well he did it wrong. Luckily the desk fit in the other direction not the way we wanted it by Amity still liked it. So I also got Amity a new monitor and speakers as she would be needing those. Its going to be nice to be able to sit in the same room and chit chat while we play on the computer. And well I can wait to kick her ass in Age of Empires and Rail Road Tycoon :-)

Back in the Saddle

Hey he is back. Well I know it has been a while since I have posted on my blog and for all of my daily readers I truly apologize. It’s funny how sometimes life just conspires to keep you from doing the things that you would like to do. I.E. Blog! Last week was a very busy week at work and slightly stressful, and that is saying a lot as most people know I am not one to get easily stressed. I would love to tell some of the stories but sometimes things that happen at work have to stay at work. Fun fun don’t you know. Well this weekend was a whirl wind of activity. As everyone know there were two birthday girls this week. One my sister turning the big 30. (aww sis its not that bad I’m about to do the big 33) . And my wonderfully woman coming in at 27. Friday night we went to Ruby Tuesday’s to celebrate my sister birthday. That was fun I got to roam around the mall. I don’t get to do that as often as I would like. One really funny thing that happened is Nicki and I were walking by the Lindt store and neither of us said anything we just eyed the store and slowed down. We decided that we would just “take a look”. Ok truth be told you can’t just go into a Lindt store and just “have a look” Well one chocolate bar and an half priced dark chocolate Easter bunny later I was done. I think Nicki bought a fair bit more than me but ah well. Saturday spend the morning just lounging around and as it was Amity’s birthday I decided to take her out for dinner. We went to a place called Peter Ott’s in Camden. It was very good but the desert was to die for they had a warm gingerbread with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream oh was is gooooooooooooooood. It was here that Amity told me something she always wanted to do. She wanted to go to a restaurant and instead of ordering a meal just order EVERY desert on the menu. Of course this would be done with more than just two people there. But sounds interesting a bunch of people a bunch of deserts and a bunch of spoons. Woo Hoo. Ok fast forward to Sunday. Hung around in the morning and went to Nicki’s that afternoon. For some killer bunnies. Was a good time although the world was against me…..But it’s a game and that’s the fun of it. Oh a really funny comedian if you get the chance on youtube Jim Jeffries. He is a riot!

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing

I had thought of a really snazzy title to use for today’s blog it was going to be “Friends, Guitar Hero, and upset tummies” but than I remembered it’s the Monday Musing. Ah well what you can do another great title gone by the wayside. Oh yes friends its funny how your friends will introduce you to so many new things. I was over for Bunny night at Scotts and they have Guitar Hero for the Wii and have been trying to get me to play it. Well to be honest it has never really appealed to me. I was the kid in band that had the very important roll of playing the triangle or the cymbal. Basically all I had to do was wait till the band director looked at me and pointed and I either clanged some stick to metal triangle or I hit to trash can lids together. Either way not very musically inclined. Well let me tell you Guitar Hero is addicting and quite fun quick to learn takes forever to master. Amity and I really enjoyed ourselves. Now Scott being the good friend that he is picked up on this little piece of info and decided to capitalize on his knowledge the following Saturday. I get a call Saturday morning it’s Scott calling to chit chat talk about the evening and what fun we had with Guitar Hero. Now here is the ruse Scott states “Hey I know you had a great time the other night you should come over and play for a while, you know Deb and I are looking for someone to watch the kids. So I agree. I just sold Amity and I out as babysitters so we could play Guitar Hero. Can you believe it? Oh so you ask where was the “Upset tummies” going to come into it. Brandon one of Scotts kids did not want to eat dinner because he had an upset tummy. How does this play in well it doesn’t but when you have a good title it needs 3 things so I threw that in.

Funny how it seems time just slips away sometimes. Well for a while I have been looking at my computer room and wanting to something with it. Get it cleaned out rearrange some things etc. I go up bright and early Saturday morning and set to work. Went through the closet, drawers, papers, books everything. I ended up throwing out 3 garbage bags of “stuff”. Stuff that I have not needed for year and wont need until well next week probably. Always seems once you get rid of something you need it. Ah well such as life I guess. Well I have corner nook all cleaned out for Amity. I want to get a desk in there for her so she will have room for more of her stuff. Moonshado’s Miniature Monday Musing

Ok, so a few weeks ago we had the cornflake shaped like Illinois, and the pretzel shaped like the Virgin Mary, today we have the Jesus Cheetoh, http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/offbeat/2008/03/22/desel.jesus.cheeto.khou?iref=videosearch , or the Jesus in the grilled cheese sandwich. Sometimes I just have to wonder how people see this stuff. I don’t know about you but I don’t examine ever pretzel or Cheetoh I eat. I don’t mull over ever morsel of everything I eat to see if it just happens to resemble something else. But you know come to think of it I think I had a sugar cookie last Christmas that was pretty close to the shape of a Christmas tree. Yet I don’t think anyone really wants to buy that. Well I guess the moral of the story is start to examine everything you consume you never know when your going to eat something that could sell for a fortune.

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing

I was sitting here wondering what I could write about today and I found my mind wandering to when I could leave and go home… and it donned on me Ill write about why I want go home.

Ah, the wonder of it all. Wait yes I know I stole that line from Foxwoods but it is so fitting. I find Monday is one of the days that I look forward to the most. I know so many people are all about the Friday as it is the last day of work. I however love going to work Monday morning as I know Monday is the day my house keep comes to clean my house. There is nothing that can compare to walking in to a house that has that slight smell of cleaning products that lest you know your place is squeaky clean. You can see the lines in the carpet where they were freshly vacuumed, all the counters sparkle and everything is in its place. Oh it is wonderful. Well it does not end there that night you slide into bed freshly washed and nice and crisp on the bed. They smell so nice. (thank you snuggle dryer sheets). People that know me say you always keep a clean house why do you have a house keeper. Well I tell you it is one of the nicest things you can do for yourself at a very reasonable price I pay $25 a week to have someone come in for two hours and I cant say enough nice things about my house keeper she’s great. I don’t know if it was the funniest musing but if it plants a seed and gets someone else to consider a house keeper they are worth every penny.

Here is a little musing to think of people will buy anything

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing …… delayed

Instead its Tuesdays Terrific Tantalizing Top Ten

So I have been very busy and slightly stressed at work doing reviews this week which has me missing my Monday musing. So I thought this week I would pull a trick out of David Lettermen’s hat and do a top ten list.

Top ten things I have learned in my current relationship.

10 – My back itches more than it ever did.
9 – It is acceptable to have curtains and mini-blinds.
8 – There is more than one type of lotion. (hands, feet, body etc)
7 – The coldest part of your partner’s body is always the part that touches you first in bed.
6 – In a relationship “Nice” does not mean the same thing as it does in a dictionary.
5 – Neither does “Fine”
4 – You don’t have to use the same bath towel all week.
3 – When someone reminds you 5 times that there is cake mix in the cupboard they want you to make cake.
2 – The end of a hair brush is a fine place to store “scrunchies”
1 – That I love Amity.

Thought I would have a little fun enjoy.

Long time no blog and the candle conundrum. . . . . .

Sorry, to all my avid readers it seems as of late I have been so busy with work and all. I will strive to make at least two posts a week from this point forward. Well unless I change my mind of course. Well what has the last week consisted of? Well nothing new really work work work day after day 50 hour week at 40 hour pay. Oh sorry just got a little carried away there it’s a great line from a country song. “Running Behind by Tracy Lawrence”. Eh but, any way all is good. So now to the good stuff…

The Candle Conundrum. . . . . .

I know last week I talked about my quarks as far as it comes to Ziploc baggies and how we compromised in that situation. Well here is our next funny situation. As most people know I love candles yes not the manliest thing to like. Oh well I don’t really care and hey they make the house smell nice and who doesn’t like a house to smell nice. Well I choose to burn candles most weekends and I choose which scent I want that weekend and usually light a candle in the morning and let it go for the weekend.. Notice I said I choose what scent (singular) I want and let it go for the weekend. You know it takes a few hours for the smell to permeate the house and once it sets in its wonderful. Amity however likes to do it a bit differently…. She likes to light a candle and let it burn for awhile and then put it out and switch to a different scent. Oh that drives me nuts and even without thinking if I see it happening I just blow the new candle out and light the old one. Oh I know that really gets to her when I do that…. Sorry hun. I still lover her!!! Baskets and Bushels.

Now in Amity’s defense I know there are many people out there that like the changing scents so much so that Febreze has come out with a line of air fresheners called Noticeables that switch scents every so often. So maybe she was on to sometime…still not for me though.

Now I know its almost time for Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing and I will be racking my brain all day to have a good one !

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing

First things first,

It looks like I have taken a week off here. It’s amazing how fast last week went. It seemed like there was so much going on for me but as I look back it was nothing that was really interesting. Work was busy and time just flew.

So let’s see what happened last week. Well it was Amity’s first week of work. It was so neat to watch her going though the whole process. As you know with any new job when you go through education they will always parade all the gung-ho people by you to make you feel great about your choice of job’s etc. It’s funny how Amity picks up on that because of her prior job. Which is not to say the bank is a bad place to work. On the contrary it’s a great place to work. It is one of those jobs that you’re either cut out for or not. But if you are it really does provide great benefits and pay. She was so cute towards the end of the week we would be on the way home and she would go on about all that she learned. She seemed so proud. It was like a kid just getting home from their first days of school. I loved it. Well I was nice all week I cooked every meal breakfast and dinner and most days made lunch. Man I am one of the nicest guys I know.

So where’s the Monday musing? Here goes.

Its funny last week Amity and I were hanging with some friends and were asked if we argue. Which we don’t. Neither her or I are the ones to get in an heated argument just not in our personalities. However occasionally we do “Discuss” things. We all have our quarks and this is a funny one with some great out-takes. I forget what day it was last week but Amity was making her lunch and much to my dismay she used a zip lock freezer back to put her sandwich in. I slightly poked fun if it and said your not going to use a freezer bag for that? We have regular sandwich baggies. She did not want to use those because the did not have the little zipper thing. And she justified using the other back because she could reuse it. Well anyway I felt it was a waste to use the “expensive” freezer bags for something and lowly as a sandwich but just let it go and said that we would get some normal zip lock baggies when we went to the store the next day. Well fast forward to the next day and we are joking about it at work the next day. Mike and Dana had to get in on it. Well Amity made her case again saying that even though she was using the heavier back she could just re-use it the next day. She had the guys leaning on her side. Up until the point I pulled out her bag which the entire inside was covered with marshmallow fluff. Sorry hun that bag has lost the war. So anyway we chuckled about it for a bit and bought the correct bags the following day that made everyone happy. Well we come to work the next day and it was still on everyone’s mind so when Amity was having lunch with me they all looked over to see what kind of baggies she was using. Well she was using the new ones we bought the night before. She had brought some Oreos in one of the baggies Mike spoke up and said you know that’s a waste of a large back you should get some of the snack baggies.

So now in my drawer at home you will fine, Normal sandwich bags, Quart Freezer Bags, Gallon Freezer bags, Ziploc sandwich bags, and Ziploc Snack bags.

Tune in later this week for the “Candle Conundrum”

Moonshado’s Miniature Monday Musing.

Ok I know that normally I have Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing however I don’t really have something that is that huge today. However I don’t have a Miniature musing. As most people who read this know Amity started at Bank of America today. Over the last few days I have really had the opportunity to observe Amity’s behavior and I know she was quite nervous. Of course I wanted to make her feel better and more at ease so be the typical male I commenced to saying all the wrong things. However my intentions were good and she came around. I know she’s not a morning person and that was evident at 6:15 this morning when I hopped out of bed to get ready. She got up a bit later. I made her breakfast and gently prodded her along. It was funny I felt like a parent sending their kid to school for the first time. I was so proud of her and she looked great. Even if she does not believe me. I have taken a picture as all proud parents do and I will put it up when I get home from work. So that s my mini musing.

Bonus Musing,

So when we got to work this morning security asked me if I would show Amity and another new hire where their education was this was to start a whole new cycle of events. So I take them where I was told, we get there and are told its across the hall. We go across the hall and I see my friend teaching a class there so I know this is not where we need to be. I have my friend call the secretary and are told its at the other end of the building. Well I get them all the way over there and drop them off. No sooner than I do that I see them walking down the hall and they were told to go to another room. Well fast forward 20 minutes and I get a text from Amity indication that they were moved two more times and ended up in the room we started at. I call this the new Bank of America health program.

Another Bunny in the Bunny circle.

Well after a fun Saturday of having Nicki, Rich, and Xander over I introduced another family to Killer Bunnies. I must say my sister and her husband were so cute… they did not want the game to end and prior to leaving Nicki wanted to know where she could buy the game. It’s so cool how you can drag people away from the TV and have fun just playing a game and chatting. I think it really brings people together. Well Nick and Rich welcome to the Bunny Circle.

Killer Bunnies, Friends and Lovers.

Well as some of you may know by following my blog most Friday nights are game night and I go over to Scott's to play Killer Bunnies. Last night was no different with the exception Amity came with me. It was so great to see her hanging with my friends and having a good time. It seems like most people I have ever been with for one reason or another don't like my friends or like to hang around my family. Amity is such a breath of fresh air. She not only enjoys being around my friends but she instantly adapts and fits in as if she has been a friend forever. That is another great quality of a wonderful woman. It was funny I had not talked to my father for about two weeks and last week Amity said well we need to go over I need to get the birthdays of the people on that side of the family. She has become the sacred keeper of the birthdays so chances are I won't be forgetting any birthdays in the near future. Oh well back to the story after about 4 hours I was ready to leave.....she was not she was having such a great time chit chatting with my step mother. It was so cool to see that. Warms my heart. Ah well enough of the sappy stuff....... Have fun!

Musings and Welcome's

I dedicate this post and musing to the "Cray and Bickford family"

First off its great to know that I have other readers in hiding out there. Anyone who reads this should feel welcome and encouraged to add any comments. I do love feedback good or bad.

So now for the musing,

I don't know the "Cray and Bickford family" or at least I don’t know them by that name. However I read my sisters blogs regularly and note they are almost always the first ones to comment on my sisters blogs. I always wonder to myself how much time they spend on the computer and they must check the blogs a million times a day. Wow.... so it had become kind of a challenge to me. I have made it a goal to be able to comment before them when I get the chance. I never thought blogging and commenting would become a competitive sport but it has.

Nice to meet you! Game on! :-)

A better picture...

Just a better shot of the flowers I got Amity for Valentines day. The shop really did a great job! KMD florists in Waterville. If you ever need flowers and are in the area they are a great place and very well priced.

Here was a shot from the comedy club.

Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing…..

Well another weekend has come and gone. It was a fun weekend all and all. I had a little surprise in store for Amity, I decided to take her out for dinner and a good comedy show in Portland. Now I had this planned for over a week but decided to wait until the last minute to tell her about it. There is just something people seem to like about surprises. So I picked her up after work and we headed down to Portland. We went to the great lost bear. http://www.greatlostbear.com/ It’s a huge and wonderful bar/grill. They have over 50 beers on tap. So you can get just about anything you would care to have. You can even get a souvenir glass filled with any beer you want for 5.99, always nice to take a little piece of the experience home with you. After that we went to the Comedy Connection and watched a husband and wife comedy team. It was Bernadette Pauley. She was quite funny and talked a lot about relationships. Here is a great link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6odNo4Cn_gE . And her husband Al Ducharme and a good clip of him here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMS9wMlCO8U . We got home late but it was a great evening. I so wish there was a comedy place that was closer as I am totally addicted to comedy. I guess that’s the thing that really makes life fun the ability to laugh. I don’t know what I would do if there was no humor in life. That would just be sad.
So what is my musing of the week going to be? Well its going to be about the up coming election. Now I’m sure that in the past we have all wondered about this question. “Will we have a woman president or a African American president first?” So this is the year that we find out. My money is on OBama, although I think it would be really interesting to see Bill Clinton as the “First Man”. That would just be amusing.

What a day Wednesday was . . . . .

So after watching the snow and rain come down all day I finally leave work at about 5:10 pm. I go over to Rite Aid as that’s where all us last minute card shoppers go. I stand there and read card after card, when I turn to the guy standing next to be and say. “Wouldn’t it be great if they only made one card” He chuckles and agrees. Now mind you I have been standing there for about 10 minutes and he had only been there for about 3 minutes and he smiles chuckles to himself and takes off with what he believes must be the best card out there. I must admit I was a little jealous that he was able to find one so quickly. So of course I go over and try and figure out what card he took. Alas no luck so I go back to where I was and find what I deem to be the perfect card. I go up the register to pay and the cashier looks at me and says wow this must be a great card do you know how many times I have seen this today? I briefly consider going and getting a different card but decide this one will be good. Than I got to thinking maybe I should buy a second card which I would write the same thing in and have as a back up just incase Amity got me the same card. Well I decided this is silly and head on home.

Let the fun begin.

I pull into my drive way or should I say attempt to pull into my driveway. Well I got stuck and tires just a spinning, I get out all in a huff and go put on my boots and start to plow. Everything was that wet heavy slush and it really sucked. I was soaked from head to toe. I got Dennis out to help me get my car out he pulled me out using the straps I use to hold down my 4 wheeler. I’m so impressed they did not break as they are only rated at 200 pounds and I used 2 of them to pull the car out. I really should invest in some good quality straps. Well I get the rest of the slush moved around and go inside and take a nice hot shower. Much to my surprise Amity cooked a wonderful meal, Meat Loaf, Roasted Red Potatoes and Carrots all served wit h some gravy. She did a fantastic job and I have put it on her list of things she can cook again.

Watched a little tv and turned in early so the day ended well!

Again, I find something I can't have.

Seems like just my luck every time I seem to find the perfect dog its always one I can't have. There is a breeder that had some puppies and one I really like they decided to keep. I can see why aint she a beauty?

The Cooking Chronicles

So Amity is working though her cooking fears, last night she made Italian Chicken and Tortellini which was tasty. She also steamed some broccoli and make garlic bread. She did wonderful and I even went back for seconds. She only gave me a small portion to begin with as she was afraid I might not like it. I'm really not that fussy! She said she is going to make dinner tonight so that will be a double treat. *wink* Jess you should send her some more of your favorite recipes.

Yes I like titles that are alliterations.

Moonshado's Mammoth Monday Musing

A fine weekend it was. Two whole days off. I had planned on going down to Portland but, because of the snow that was called off. What a same as in my neck of the woods Saturday morning was a beautiful one. Amity and I got up early and headed to Bangor to have some breakfast and do a little shopping. Oh I guess I should be more accurate to have breakfast and go to Best Buy so I could buy my remote. (more on that to come). We came back home and played a some games for a bit and Amity decided to take a nap. I decided to play with my new remote control. Ah well you know how guys are.

Sunday, I slept in which was great I don’t get to do that nearly as often as I would like. So I woke up all bright eyed and bushy tailed at 8am, went down stairs to well you guessed it fiddle with my new remote. Amity came down at about 10:30 and we cooked breakfast together. She has decided to get over her fear of cooking by cooking with me so she can learn! Woo hoo, I was going to make her make dinner one night this weekend but she was saved by the bell. Phil came over around 1pm and we played a few games of Killer Bunnies, YES another person brought into the Bunny Circle! Oh, how did Amity get out of cooking dinner? Well Phil wanted pizza, the little store in town make great and cheap pizza! So that’s what we had. Well It was snowing pretty good so we all ended our fun around 9pm I went and plowed and Phil went home and boom the weekend was over.

I did also want to give a mention about Amity today in my blog as she did something for me this weekend that was just wonderful and I told her it was blogging material. Every winter I get really dry and cracked feet which sometimes crack and bleed, yes I know I would take better care of them with creams, salves, ointments, and lotions. However I’m lazy about that kind of thing and by the time I think about it, its too late. Well Amity saw me hobbling and inquired about my feet, the angel she is put lotion my feet not once, not twice, but three times. Oh my gosh it was heavenly. I must say any woman who will slather my craggily feet with lotion should be put up for saint hood. Love you babe!

What all this talk a but nothing that resembles Moonshado’s Mammoth Monday Musing,

Relax my friends do not despair as it is here and I said earlier there would be more about it…… The Remote how far we have come. I remember when I was a kid the first remote control I ever had was for a VCR and it was ATTACHED to the VCR with a wire. So yes you could control it from anywhere within 10 feet of the VCR. Ah however the couch just happened to be 12 feet from the VCR. Oh well…. Well this weekend I bought the Harmony ONE remote and it is FANTASTIC. It can control up to 15 different devices, and you can choose from over 15000 different devices. It even controls my air conditioner. And well if a device is not listed it can even learn. Now remote controls are smart! Yikes. Well and way so I get it all set up and it has a touch screen etc its like a little computer. So I have it set up I go into the living room and start to test the different functions. Well after you press an “activity” for the first time it does the action then comes up and asks you “Did that function as you intended” well for my DVR it did so I hit “Yes”, I moved on to my HD-DVD player… Hit the button…..”Did that function as you intended” and well it did not. I got a little scared here however I guess that was unnecessary. As I hit “NO” it said, “Hold on while I attempt to fix the problem” bam 10 seconds later everything working like I wanted and again it asks “Did that function as you intended” “YES” I love this thing.

Here is the muse how cool would it be if life was like that… you do something and it just comes out wrong, and all you have to do is hit a button and it corrects it’s self.

Officer - Mr. Watts did you know you were speeding?
Mr. Watts – No I’m sorry I was paying attention to the road, I’m quite sorry if I broke the speed limit.
Officer – Here is your ticket Mr. Watts, slow down.

“Did this work as you intended?”

“NO”

“Hold on while I attempt to fix the problem”

Officer - Mr. Watts did you know you were speeding?
Mr. Watts – No I’m sorry I was paying attention to the road, I’m quite sorry if I broke the speed limit.
Officer – Thanks, for paying attention to the road, next time watch your speedometer as well. Have a nice day.
Mr. Watts – Thanks you too!

Late night quote for Jess.

"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." -- Unknown

Hot Coco, Car Payments, and Remote Controls

Another Friday is here so good to see. I'm so excited I made my last car payment this morning. As I'm about to turn 160,000 miles on my beast. Well it has been a good car to me and I hope it gets me at least another year. I have every indication that it will. It has gotten me through a lot. It has had it share of scrapes and dings. Its hit 3 deer, been ran into by one Tow Truck while helping my lil sister move. (Remember that Jessi) and its been backed into a plow. Other than that no major repairs :-) I'm lucky I have a few new vehicles that I'm interested in but they are all being redesigned for the 2009 model year so even if I wanted one I have to wait till next year. What a great way to wait and save on some car payments. Well any way I'm sitting here with my hot coco and I must say it’s a wonderful treat! I just happened to have a hankering this morning for it. Oh can't wait till tomorrow going down to Portland for my Grandfathers birthday how cool is that he is 80 something I am so bad with dates my family can attest to. I'm happy because Ill get to see everyone! We always have fun when we get together and should do it more often. Ah....and while in Portland must stop at Best Buy it is time to buy a Universal Remote Control as I currently have 5 huge remotes sitting next to my chair and well it is a pain in the ass to use so many remotes. I'm lucky I have $120 in Best Buy reward dollars so that will pay for about 1/2 of the remote! Well I am now feeling much better seems like I'm over my illness, but I feel bad I think I managed to get everyone sick. Amity got sick, Dennis got sick, and the two people that sit right outside my office at work are out sick. :-(

Mini Musing

I have had this sitting on my desk for about a week now and had been meaning to put it up here. Well last week after a wonderful meal from Ming's I went to read my fortune cookie and thought wow I have to post this.

"People who are late are often happier than those who have to wait for them"

Huh, how true that is....how true that is....

Remind you of anyone? Not naming names :-)

So Moonshado's Mammoth Monday Musing....

Did not happen, Due to illness it has been postponed until next week. I did want to take just a moment to post about my lovely last few days. I got out of work at noon, (felt fine) went home had lunch, (felt fine) took a nap and got up, (felt fine) played a bit on the computer (felt fine) got up walked into the kitchen bam it hit me like being punched by Mike Tyson in the gut. And well I yakked all over the kitchen floor. Icky, well anyway I'm glad Amity had not made it home from work yet so she got to miss all the fun or so I thought. Well after that I felt pretty good. Thought something had just upset my tummy. Decided to play it safe just drank a little water had a few goldfish crackers. Amity made it home and we went down to watch the game. I did not have any of the wonderful food that had been made. What a loss! :-( Well about the third quarter just sitting there and no warning boom hit me again! Oh my I felt soooo bad all over Dennis's rug oh man I felt bad, all over me, all the way out the door. Amity the saint she is would not let me clean up she took care of it all. That my friends is a good woman! I don't think I have had anyone clean up after me since I was little. Well anyway I just wanted everyone to know hoe much I appreciated her taking care of me. I do love her so.

TP UPDATE PART TUSH!

Well we have made it to the new package of TP and although I was quite skeptical at first I must say its not all that bad, its not really so soft that it leaves you "linted" but it does have a nice cushyness to it. I think I might be converted, Amity however said the jury is still out not as good as Angel soft but its not bad. Yea! our first compromise I feel so proud of myself.

Well today is game day and oh what fun this should be I have to work until noon but after that I'm outta here. Have a few friends coming over for the game. Got all the game foods....

Ribs (Check)
Wings (Check)
Poppers (Check)
Chips and dip (Check)
Nachos (Check)
Chili (Check)

Tums (Check)

Should be fun evening and we all hope the Patriots win! Oh and the commercials those better be good!

My first official musing!

So as I do my morning rounds of the various palaces I visit I came across this news story and was so amused I had to do a little write up and make it my first offical musing woo hoo.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - Authorities removed nearly 200 animals from a Virginia Beach home, including 89 frozen ferret carcasses. Police spokeswoman Margie Long said animal control agents found more than 100 live ferrets, a dog, a bird and three cats, most of them suffering from dehydration and malnutrition. Long said the frozen bodies of 89 ferrets, a cat, a rat and an otter were discovered in freezers in the house and garage. Sixty-one of the live ferrets had to be euthanized because of poor health.

Yes, there are people who really have a problem hording animals and are in need of some help. It just seems like things went really wrong in this household. Now you may ask Wally what has you so amused at this situation. Well I get to the sentence.... "Long said the frozen bodies of 89 ferrets, a cat, a rat and an otter were discovered in freezers in the house and garage." I'm reading through, and thinking to myself.. Frozen Farrets..... cat..... rat..... and OTTER? It brings me back to childhood when on Sesame Street they played that game. One of these things is not like the other thing one of these things is just not the same can you guess which one of these things is not like the other thing? Well that just ran through my head where in the world would this woman get an OTTER that has got to be one of the weirdest things to have in your freezer. Unless your a woodman and live in Alaska or something. And than I got to thinking what about this womans husband.... could a conversation like this ever have taken place. Honey I know we have all these farrets and other animals but it you REALLY loved me you'd get me an OTTER? Ok maybe I have beat this horse into the ground but it was fun....how big of a freezer do I need? Oh never mind....

Blog Thoughts

Yesterday a thought came to me, I love how these blogs give me a better incite in to the daily lives of the people I care about. Family, friends etc. Makes me wish more people would blog. I also got to thinking about Jessi's Wednesday OUI post and wanted to somehow do something similar here. So I have chosen to steal the idea shamelessly. So starting next Monday I will try and have Moonshado's Mammoth Monday Musing and extra special entry each Monday. I just love all the M's :-)

The toilet paper controversy.

So after much consideration and soul searching I have decided to compromise. I have purchased the Scott soft. It is heralded as their "Softest and Thickest EVER" So only time will tell if this will be pleasing to the various tushes it will grace. I promise and update once we actually do some product testing and break into those rolls.

Last night was another first for Amity and I! I formally introduced her to Killer Bunnies and all indications are she loves it. This is great news and my friends and I get together weekly to have game night and play all kinds of card games and now she can be included! Woo Hoo!

There was a great episode of House last night, anyone who does not watch the show should. There will be a new episode after the Superbowl this weekend so make sure y'all tune in.

I was quite happy today as I finally got my W2's in the mail. Can't wait to get my money back from the good ole IRS!

A great weekend!

What makes for a great weekend you ask? Absolutely nothing, that's exactly what Saturday was and that's exactly what I needed. As most people know work has kept me very busy and I have been working most weekends. This was the first weekend in quite sometime that I had off where I did not have it scheduled to the hilt. Saturday was great, got up at 8:30 and made Amity breakfast, a nice breakfast pizza. (I have become very food at making these) Just ask Amity, she not only had it for breakfast, but for lunch and dinner. Yea its that good. Got her off to work. Went to the post office as I am so waiting to get my W-2's. I want to do my taxes I want my refund woo hoo. So what is it with companies waiting till the last minute to give us our w2's I remember the days when I owed money they always got them to me early. Back to my Saturday so anyway I get back from the post office and saunter up to bed and promptly fall back to sleep. I drag myself out of bed at about 2:30 quite refreshed I might add. Spend the rest of the day watching tv and relaxing. How nice that was. Sunday Amity and I got up at 11:30 and while she so lovingly folded my laundry ( I tell her to leave it for the house keeper but she still does it) I snuck down the the store to get her her favorite sandwich. Ham Cheese and as I call it PEEKEL its just funny to say it that way. After lunch we went to watch UNTRACEABLE with my other friend Phil. I thought it was a good movie...they well did not like it quite as much as I did. Hey their tastes in movies is sometimes lacking but hey I like them anyway. We went out to Longhorn for dinner which was good. I had not intended to go out to eat but Phil wanted to go. I had planned on going shopping well that did not happen. I better go quick down to only one roll of toilet paper......... Which makes me ask.... why do women use so much toilet paper I remember the days when a 4 pack of Scott would last at least 2 months..... we can now reduce that by a factor of 4 ...... and I have been informed that this is better than this I might give it a try...we shall see. :-)

The First Post

So, I sit here on a Friday night work is almost done. All day I have been thinking what on earth should my first post be about. Something touching something heart felt something with meaning and flair. Eh, screw that I'm just happy it's friday. Going to get out of work go grab some Ming's and head over to my good friend Scott's for a fun evening of Killer Bunnies. What is Killer Bunnies you ask well its a card game there are a few links on the left hand side here where you can read about it. It is such a fun game. Such a fun game that much to Amity's dismay I bought it. Sorry hun I just could not wait. I know she wanted to get it for me for Valentines day. Ah well hun there are still plenty of Munchkin games left. I know I am so hard to buy for. Just have to be more creative.
